Got a 2001 Kenworth T800. 13 speed.. I am currently just taking it apart to do the clutch and noticed there is no rear mount. There are a couple brackets on the frame and bolts in the top of the trans where one might would go... but this trans has been out before i got the truck. Ive put over 200k on it with no rear support... just wondering if i let it ride or should I find one to install? Is it normal for people to not put them back in?
Is a rear transmission support necessary? Mind dont have one.

If its not equipped, I wouldnt add it. Some have them, some don't.
Rideandrepair, Green461 and lester Thank this. -
I never really understood the point of them. My Pete has one but its basically just 4 bolts and some springs. Bolts just hold the springs in place and springs take the weight. And they aren't very big springs

You’re not the first to ask. I too was surprised at mine. Just doesn’t seem right. Lol

I ended up putting one in... the bellhousing is aluminum and it is not very thick, 1/8" and maybe a bit more in a few spots but seems to be asking a lot to support the trans like a cantilever bouncing down the highway, cantilever load is not even, its pulling on top and pushing on bottom. I have heard in the past people saying their transmission literally fell out of their truck and always thought to myself they must be smoking crack... but now I see how its totally possible. lol.
Vampire Thanks this.
