well, you might as well apply to mcdonalds then. or you could just go to work for another trucking company - if you can find one that's hiring - and drive 1400-1800 miles/week for them. a LOT of driver right now would KILL for 1800 a week. bottom line is - NOBODY is getting miles right now. no freight = no miles.

A year ? I thought you started the end of July . Jobs are tougher to get now . Don't count on being able to find something better .

i have been mainly around 2000-3200 since the first of the year
although 2300 would be a realistic avg.

It is REALLY bad right now. You all should see some of the e-mails I get from this site, PHEW. People begging and crying for help. Of course, there is nothing I can do or anyone else can do. Good luck everyone as we "ride the storm out."

If you feel miles are not what you expect, then maybe you should try to find something local that pays hourly..Other than that stay put, it is not always greener on the other side..

tMileage vs. Hours Of Service is what killed me finally with the last company I was with. Low miles are one thing, but fighting your 14 and doing 100 - 200 miles will kill anyone sooner than later.

Let us stay home, and most of us can do something. Sitting somewhere else away, is unproductive and "frustrating"!

I agree, if you want to stay in this industry then you are just going to have to ride the storm out where you are. Miles suck every where and jumping companies is only going to hurt you. My miles where good in Nov. 3000+ about Dec 15th they dropped to 2300. Then in Jan and Feb they went back up. Now the freight has dropped again and I'm getting 2300-2500 again. Makes it hard with a wife and 2 kids. But Drivers who can stick it out will be better off. I've seen this before. Not as bad as this, But I've seen down turns before. If you can stay where you are things will get better and those drivers will be in a position to make some good money then. Hang tough and Tighten the belt.
