Guys if you call it a strike thats against the law.
How ever if you call it a "sick out" or simply a "vacation" thats legal. It just so happens that a whole bunch of truckers are on vacation at the same time. -
I have been hearing all around that shippers everywhere are refusing to pay any higher rates or fsc.
this is getting desperate and FAST!! I say anyone who hears that from a shipper should flat out not haul for them and let it sit. Trucks have been running at no profit for as long as they can. Now they have ben putting of maintenance and repair issues s long things are breaking and there is no way to fix them. Every little thign is a crisis as there is no reserves. The rates HAVE to go up or the trucks can move for much longer. I wish people would wise up and realize they are killing the whole industry by running fr free -

I spend more time on these forum than I should since I've been off work. There is usually the normal grumblings every spring about strike blah blah blah. But I'll tell ya. EVERY forum I read is on fire right now. I think we've reached the breaking point. They are ready they just need someone to lead the whole thing.

Too bad the guy is a freak.
Unfortunatly we have this problem in america where nobody takes your cause seriously if it isn't indorsed up by some attratcive celebrity -
Along with the fuel prices, Bronc somewhat answered and cleared up this issue, but I want to know exactly the details. We pay for our annual tag to run out of state, each state differs in price, so therefor we are paying for that, then of course fuel, but for those who have their own authority they also pay for fuel taxes and have to keep track quarterly for each state ran in and fuel bought in that state....... Now how in the world is IRP, IFTA and of course the fuel companies basically making us pay 3 different times for the same thing... Or am I missing something...?? How can we change that...??
-
they're not...
plate taxes cover basicly the rights to run that state
fuel pump taxes and ifta taxes cancel each other out so to say...if you dont buy fuel in say....ca...they will make you pay ifta tax for the miles ran.....if you do fuel you dont pay ifta since you paid at the pump...as long as they come to the same amount...sometimes you owe and sometimes they owe you....its a kwirky deal at best to describe
now what is the annual $550 for again??? oh yeah the right to own these big darn things -
Awww ok, thanks bronc, I kind of understand the meaning but I probably will steer clear of getting my own authority knowing how this life is now, and also the confusion and stress of keeping all those miles, and fuel stops accounted for while I am ummm doing another job besides trucking, lol.
