Is anybody still doing a 10-15K oil change?

Well, to be fair here, while those extended drains "seem" like a lack of common sense, if they are backed up with oil sampling that shows the oil is holding up, then it is not that big of a deal. I wouldn't go that long with my engine and I would grease in a 1/3 of the time they choose to, but if there is solid evidence that doing things in an extended way is not detrimental, then go for it. Detroit is recommending 50,000 mile oil changes, with sampling, and Delo is claiming that in tests, their oil is holding up in those engines for 70,000 miles. So it may seem outrageous compared to what we all are used to, doesn't mean it is outrageous. Technology has come a long way in the last 20 years.

The whole truck is built for that 500k consumer. From push lock fittings, no grease fittings, etc... Then they sell it to Joe Trucker at an auction with a fresh oil change and he inherits the problems. But for the big company it is perfect.
ToddyRich Thanks this. -
I am not comfortable with vastly extended drains either. I do mine at around 20,000 miles. Oil sample still shows oil is good and wear metal levels fine. Just my comfort level. -
DITTO , probably feel the way I do because I work on my truck and rebuild engines for myself, I just don't trust mechanics, I've seen them stuff up too many times. Heavy jobs like pulling gearbox I pay a mechanic only because I don't have a shed or the jacks, etc, but inframes are easy cause I don't need anything other then a engine crane to lift the head off.

I've always changed mine at 10,000 miles and have never had any problems.

I do mine every 15 to 20 with 1/5 lucas ad never had any problems.
