SMT: Smaller outfits generally require minimum 6months if not a year. Small outfits cannot absorb accidents as easily as the Megas. There are excptions but as a whole the Megas are the quickest way to OTR. Insurance companies look at driving experience.

At some point they will. Statistically the clinically obese become pre-disposed to many of the things that exclude us from driving which is their legal excuse. It's extremely hard for the gov't to pass stuff when the harm is only hypothetical and only to you, once it involves a threat to others around you hypothetical or not it becomes very easy.

Kinda ran off with that one didn't you? Anyways Obesity is 100% a Disease! and it SHOULD be treated as such because the amount of people its kills every year due to everything is brings is insane! Ask anybody that's come back from it (like me) and they will agree. I was almost 300lbs and big suprise I DID have the high blood pressure (stage 2 hypertension) I DID have high cholesterol, I DID snore, I DID wake up multiple times a night, I DID wake up tired all the time, I DID feel at times during the day where I could nod off very easily. So it's not all a scam regardless of what select scumbag doctors are doing for kickbacks for sleep studys when they know there's nothing wrong with a person. I made all the excuses back then that people who are still big now do but I'm lucky I got all the weight off and all the issues went with it. Regardless of what anybody says, NOBODY that's big enjoys not fitting into booths at restaurants, not being able to buy clothes, throwing themselves in and out of cars/trucks or waddling around like a duck.

I'm late to the party but I find it disturbing that the government can or will discriminate against someone based on weight.

FYI, for people who are overly obese, it isn't necessarily an issue of a lack of self-discipline but of genetics. Obesity has been directly linked to genes dating back to prehistoric man who had to survive long periods of famine.

This isn't a reason to be overweight in today's society of readily available food but to make one aware that staying healthy will be doubly hard vs a person born without this gene.

That is why the Atkins diet supposedly works. Because it mimics the way Cro-Magnons and Neanderthals ate. There was no sugar or flour in their diets.
