This whole "green".movement is nothing but a tool to drive capitalism into the ground.
This isn't a green thing but an example of govt over regulation:
My wife used to be a general manager for Holiday Inn.Several years ago the ADA required every single hotel across the country to install a handicapped crane. These cranes are placed next to the pool. With assistance handicapped people get into a seat at the end of the crane and are hoisted into the pool. Next time you stay at a hotel take a look,.doesn't matter how big or small the hotel is they all have them. The thing is these cranes, and this was about 15 years ago, cost the hotel owners close to 40,000 for hardware and installation. . And they never get used. ! .mgt.spent all their time having to keep the snotty noses kids off the pool crane. The whole thing was probably introduced by some bleeding heart liberal moron.
I am all for handicapped persons having access but really? And to think the American Revolution started over a little tea tax. Buttplug Buttegeig or however u spell it, is worried about racist roads and here we are , truckers bringing the goods to feed their sorry aristocratic #####..and nowhere to park! I just can't get over the mass brainwashed hypnosis that is going on in this country.

Pretty dang clear to me that gov can and will target things based on their version of truth at any given moment.

    Including kids!

Big business owns our government. They're the ones behind all of the onerous costly regulations. It's off topic but here in our own wonderful trucking industry big business wanted to impose ELD's on all their small competitors, and they got exactly what they wanted. Next up is the speed limiter mandate that they want to stifle their smaller competitors again. They're even cloaking that in fake green it's good for the environment and of course safer too. Both of which are total BS. They don't give a rat's ### about clean air or "safe speeds".

Gullible people will believe that though. Anything that increases costs for small competitors is good for the megas. I can go buy a brand new truck for $240,000 right now but the megas can buy a 100 of the exact same truck for substantially less than that. Another "green" regulation that adds $15,000 in production cost (never mind reliability and maintenance cost increases) really hurts a small business but not the megas.

I agree with much of what your saying. It's no secret that big money speaks louder than anything else in any society. Just because it interferes with small business interests that doesn't mean there isn't science behind it. They aren't going to put anything on the market that hasn't been tested. I'm not so sure the big companies even pushed the green agenda. The science is out there. Just many folks don't pay attention to it because it doesn't line up with them philosophically. The big companies have the ability to evolve because of their deep pockets. Me personally, I'm in favor of movements that improve the environment. If you can create a way to have cleaner air, why wouldn't you? Things change as discoveries are made.
