If you have experience in the Army, you can definately do better than CREngland. Hit up the most pretegious trucking company in your area, maybe an LTL company, and you'll land that job since you're a vet.
Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this. -
guys he needs a starter company, hey man try roehl if you want they are good. and have good hometime. but like i said central isnt bad for a starter. but overall all starters are the same. cr england just has the worst reviews.

By avoiding company based CDL training, you are ensuring you get a well rounded education that you won't be beholden to anyone for. The "fine print" of such situations typically includes "you drive for us for 2 hears or you owe us 3,000$" which is crap.
Get your CDL on your own, and DO NOT SIGN ANY CONTRACTS. -
I would recommend going to a community college. If/when you do sign on with a company some of them will reimburse you for the schooling.
Before I would go to CR England I would look at a lot of other places. I will admit I drive for Schneider and I've enjoyed it so far.
Good Luck with whichever way you decide to go. -
1st off Thank You for your service...... Now, This is BY FAR the best way for you to go... the community college route that is.......should be free to you also with your military benefits.

i kind of think that, with military experience, you won't need a starter company. seriously man, military looks extremely good on a resume. if you can use a pallet jack , i think you can get a local/LTL job immediately. go hit up some of your terminals... i think even the companies that want '1 or 2' years of experience, that aren't big corporate places but smaller companies, will put you above most applicants just because you were in the military and have the tenacity to succeed in trucking

Yes; "Here's your CDL; good luck finding a job. Don't forget that you still owe us $5500" is *SO* much better.
At least when you graduate from a company-affiliated school, you have a job waiting.
