I have been searching for a good northeast regional position. I live in CT and it seems that the majority of the companies I have been looking into are just offering OTR. I just posted an application with Cowan and I was wondering if anyone has ever driven for them or knows someone who has..
Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanx!!!!!!!
Is Cowan a good company?

My husband drove for them for 4 years and they were ok. First he drove for them out of Federalsburg,MD on a Solo cup account and then transferred to Cincinnati, OH where they handled all the freight for Coca-Cola. We live in KY and he was a over the road driver and was home on weekends some of the time. Only thing is there benefits stink! It's about $18 bucks an hour which is good but,you get no sick days and you get 1 weeks paid vacation. After you have been there 3 years you get 2 weeks then at 5 years you get 3 weeks. The health insurance is expensive and has limited coverage! Most the time management don't know there butt from a hole in the ground which is about normal I guess. The farthest they go is to parts of the midwest like indiana, illinois etc. Primarily most of there freight is up and down the east coast but they do go into parts of florida and the deep south. They fired him for a failed drug screen which was bogus because it was due to a medical condition and the state of KY sided with him and awarded him with his unemployment benefits. But we lost everything in our fight with Cowan and now he is stuck in a minimum wage job which he hates. But that's water under the bridge and, we are trying to get him back on the road if we can. So word to the wise think twice before you think about working for them.
