Just wondering if anyone knows if route 34 in Connecticut is a good truck route. Just trying to cut some miles between 84 and 8.
Is CT route 34 a truck route?

Yes, it is. At least, big rigs are allowed.

This might help. Then again, it may not be up to date. Best information is from the state in question IF you can find it.

Everything ive seen points to yes. Just wondering if anyone has actually taken it.

Asked our GIS to verify.

It is a truck route, I drive down it for work quite often and see 53' every time. The only tight part is when the road crosses the dam over the river, then the road runs along the river until route 8.

Thank you.

Yes it is. 53' OK, just mind the dam crossing (as in take up the whole road entering and exiting). Other than that and some tighter spots along the river, it's fine. Used to run it from 84 down to Newtown fairly frequently.

Per our GIS.
CT-34 is an STAA approved truck route with no restrictions from I-84 to CT-8.
