I called the Federal Marshalls Service one time. They slammed the state trooper down to the ground and cuffed him then put him in their van and waterboarded him. After that he was fawning and groveling all over me begging me not to have him fired. I cut him some slack and let him keep his job.

Hammond, LA, I-12, 09:00 PM, a Wednesday night, 1 small truck stop, 1 medium truck stop, 1 large truck stop ... you are not finding a parking spot. I promise. What you will get is 15-25 minutes wasted trying to navigate through a maze of mal-parked and other desperate parking seekers. You will be fortunate to simply find your way back out and onto the interstate inside of 20 minutes.
This is not everybody's reality but it is many people's reality, every day of the week, in many, many, many areas after (or near) dark.8thnote Thanks this. -
Lol. Its funny I have learned , you mention federal dot , and they kinda let ya alone . Now I did have one be a #### , god bless her heart , she was ugly and pissed at the world I am sure , so I left ..... oh well ya win some ya lose some ...

I was in that situation a lot pulling reefers. A little more flexible with tankers with many delivery plants out in the boonies. Most chemical plants I dealt with had parking and restrooms to use; maybe not the best, but at least something.

you know you need to go to the TA so you can complain about the reserved parking

It depends a lot on the areas you run, how well you know that area, and planning ahead. When I run areas I'm familiar with I know the lots that fill up and the ones that don't, if your company has designated fuel stops don't plan on finding parking there in the evening.

You do know the pocket truck stop guide book is your friend right? You can find them in most TA, Petro, and Flying J truck stops. Buy that and it will help you out trying to find parking.

Guess I've been lucky...but then I LOVE to try the last spot on the lot..HA! Makes a better driver oughta you tho'.
Really late, you know you're taking chances. Not much luck on smaller rest stops. I buy stuff @ Wally-World, have had no problems. El Paso SUCKS...everywhere, except right down on the border...I ferget the name of the streets...but not much problem.rank Thanks this. -
You wouldn't put up with what drivers would do to your lot for 48 hours.

I know what you're saying, but think about the fact that most drivers on eLogs can move around a Walmart DC without moving their Qualcomm out of sleeper. They have been jerked around already 3 to 5 hours, so they only need to provide a corner area in the back so a driver can get another 5 to 7 hours to get his break. They don't want to be stuck there any more then Walmart wants them there. Hell, they can charge $10 and provide a receipt like the truck stops do and make their money that way instead of selling candy and chips for some charity like they do.
