Just went e-logs this week. So far I am liking this better than paper. Has a built in gps navigator so far has been as good or better than the one I have been running. What is a riot is when I have them both on and the argue about the next turn!

I've got a buddy headed there Monday for orientation starting on Tuesday. He talks like he thinks they'll be good for him. Think he said there were three others gonna be there, two newbies and one other experienced.

Just accepted a orientation date for after the holidays:biggrin_255: (next open date for the start of January)!!:biggrin_25522:
Sounds like a good good company in the scheme of things...according to everything I looked at, the equipment is well maintained and safe, the drivers are safe, and are all encouraged to be safe...a WIN-WIN in the days leading up to the CSA thing.
The school Reimbursement program is the best I have heard of by FAR, and everything else seems to be pretty darn good!!
The fact the trucks are not pretty or "new" IMO doesn't matter too much as long as they get the job done and the fact they hold onto trucks a bit longer keeps the company a bit more competitive, so be it! It is a job, and they are taking a chance on me, and I'm taking a chance on them!:biggrin_25514:
I bet I'll be running mostly water out of Maine since I'm so close! Everybody Drink more bottled water!!:biggrin_25525:

Buddy just got back from orientation there last night. From what all he told me went on.....i like that company. They take care of their people but they dont hire no junk. They paid for three meals a day, (he said they were whatever you wanted...really good food) nice dorms, very friendly and very patient people. The instructors let you work and practice at your own pace...not looking over your shoulder and were really nice people. The driving couarses sound like fun. They really keep the equipment serviced. Flew him back home to be with family for the weekend before he heads out with a trainer. Alot of things he was saying...they seem to be a really nice trucking company. Smaller than most but they seem true, safety oriented, push legal and honest and thats what you want in the long run. I have considered going over there after hearing from him.

5wire, hows life at H O Wolding? I'm considering them as a possibility. You've been there about a year now right?

Just got home last night after 4 days orientation; overview of logging and driving test. Good food, good people. I talked to a lot drivers there in for service and resets. 95% really liked the company. They had been with Hunt, Swift,Werner,Schneider and all preferred H O W. They liked the support they received and said you could get as much home time, or as little as you want. I've been pleased with my choice so far. Sure the trucks could be nicer, but from what I can tell they are very well maintained.

:yes2557:coming up on a year and a half next week. Running constant 2500-3000 miles lately and getting home every weekend. Just got a truck upgrade last month and last week I got my elog qual com box upgrade. I went back to paper for a couple weeks and asked to get back to elogs as soon as they could accommodate. I like elogs.

I am happy with my choice of HOW and would do it again. Catch you later, heading out on an icy monday morning!
