Is that with Charlie Moorcraft? Seen that one too many times in my career.

If you don't mind, I have a question about shutting down.

Trainer wanted everything shut down and closed, then bleed the hose very last. Said it didn't matter the order of trailer valves being shut off, which I'm not so sure of either. I'm not disagreeing or saying he's wrong, but I'm used to there being an order for things, so I started thinking about the path of the LNI and where it could be trapped.

On my most recent unload I shut off the destination's tank valve, then the main trailer supply valve, then the valve to the hose. At this point I'm thinking I have the hose isolated, so why not bleed it while I'm setting all the other valves?

I tried it and nothing bad happened, not sure why it would. It seemed to save time to bleed the hose while I'm closing off bypasses and opening the travel valve instead of standing there waiting at the end.

By that time the hose was light and I hammered the fitting open a bit, just light puffs, so I took it off and hung it. Then made double-sure the trailer valves were all shut except for the travel, including the hose bleeder that had been open, then killed the pony and wrapped up.

In that sequence, what could I have done better?

Well I'm not sure if you guys have an employee hand book for your products. The company should have a uniformed way on how they want loading and unloading done. If in doubt check to see if they do.

    Hear is our way.
Shut hose discharge valve and lower engine rpms
Disengage clutch, close pressure builder, open recirculation valve, close pump inlet valve, open vent valve to begin bringing pressure down.

Close customer top and bottom valve, open their bleed valve, close trycock.
Walk back over check trailer pressure if low enough close vent valve, open road relief valve. Disconnect fill hose, close bleed and shut down pony, that's it.
