I have ADD and am going to be starting trucking school in a few weeks. I'm sure i'll be taking more notes than most people but do trucking companys have a policy on it?

I must say I drive 250 miles to my wifes familys house every 3 to 4 weeks so I don't think I have a problem driving on the roads. Actually think I do very well. Is there anything I should know? Should I tell my trainer when I'm being trained?

Sometimes I tell people and they just think I'm stupid and there's a big study out there saying most people with my disorder are very smart people but need a little more help sometimes.

    Thanks,

    Nick

make a habit from the start of reading EVERY SINGLE sign on the road. i have missed my exit plenty of time because of drifting thoughts LOL

There's a couple in EVERY class that need a little extra help. You'll probably get it. I wouldn't go straight to the ADD thing. I don't know of any policies about it, though many of the treatments for it are on the NO list.

haha thanks guys. Hopefully being on the road for very long periods of time I won't start to day dream. My father did that once and we went 200 miles out of our way. He's a Attorney!! for god sake ! LOL

ADHD was addressed in another thread, I did an advanced search using Attention Deficit Disorder as key words in entire posts. It's the only one that wasn't off the topic.

Not everyone was encouraging about it but there is some good advice in the thread.

    Good luck to you.

I think I'll make a blog for when I start my first day. It will help me "keep track" and hopefully help others on here. I'm a mod for a car forum so I'm used to doing things like that. On that note I have 1 of the fastest 07 Hyundai Accents in north america (lol)
