Well it's on the trucker path board, what did you expect.

 

Actually looks like he's being straight up. Like he has a customer that just doesn't want to pay, so he's telling you right up front that it's cheap, and he knows it.

There's a few maybes that come to mind as to what's going on, but this might actually be one of the good brokers. And yes, good brokers do exist.

Looks like the typical lumber load out of upstate NY

 

Naw, no love lost here for ofs. I had horrible dealings with them in the past. One of their favorite tricks is to send you to pickup a no tarp load, only when you arrive they need it tarped. I'd bet this $1.08 per mile deal will want that lumber covered, on top of the garbage rate..

 

Absolutely, in that area it’s simply supply and demand. Tons of trucks looking for loads to get out of the NE, it’s always been that way. When I pulled a flatbed load into the NE, I made sure I had a good rate going in, because I would either deadhead out or get a cheap lumber product load to pay for fuel.

Also, I'd be stupid taking this load, if I did not need to.
Only market dictates that rate...not you or him.
