    Use a mid or a flat roof. You may get lucky in some places with a condo but most refineries, chemical plants have low pipe racks. Drive through Exxon in Baton Rouge or Pasadena and you will understand.
    It’s not so much the loading rack you have to worry about, it’s getting to that rack that can be the issue.

    Remember a lot of chem and oil companies used to have private fleets and engineered their facilities around that image. The old style racks often had gang planks and a fence like fall protection hanging from the roof. I remember a cab-over Pete with twin stacks that kinda came together in the rear center of the cab and the one co-driver guiding the other as the backed into the rack with this structure between the stacks..they were shortened by the next week..

    I have been in some plants especially up in Jersey and Delaware that seemed like they were designed around pickup trucks.

    I've loaded at places in the Houston area that had one way traffic in and out of the racks. Did not allow any trucks to back in.

    There were some up here too BUT the NJ DEP j has chased 98% of the business away...
    Past 4 years I watched (2) ex customers that took a lot of chem products and ended up Superfund sites have been 'brownfielded' into warehouse sites.

    3/4 of the places on Doremus Ave in Newark are long gone and a lot of the bigger plants around the area are gone too...

    @RichTrucker2020

    Pay wasn’t great but I think it was more than fair.

    I took home a $1000 a week after taxes without running too hard and getting a day off after 6

    Both my company truck and my personal truck are midroofs.

    Currently not driving for anyone.

    This was a very good question I was asking myself when considering moving to tanker (I currently pull dry vans). How about a KW studio sleeper like on a T800 or W900? Those aren't quite 13'6 but they are higher than a mid roof.

    Ya my dilemma is I am only going to drive it for a year pulling tanker and then most likely going to get a driver in it to do dry van. So tough decision
