It sure is a lot more physical work than what I bargained for come in!

It's not a matter of whether it's going to spoil or not. It's a matter of you got to get the load there because you got to be able to get your next load because you got to be able to make money. 10-4?Last Call Thanks this.

I honestly wouldn't know how to switch back and forth on log books to use the AG exempt stuff or exception I should say. I had a buddy of mine that used to do this and tried to explain it to me all the time and I just never quite got it. The boss doesn't ever offer us the opportunity to switch and and try to do that anyway.

Also with the garbage log program that we run from JJ Keller it would blow a gasket if we tried to do anything outside the normal operating parameters!!

I had a driver that worked for me one time. He never understood why I wanted him to get unloaded by the close of business. He would say “what does it matter if I make it by 4 or if I deliver at 7 the next morning”. I never did get through to him that by unloading at 4 he would be a half a day ahead.
It doesn’t seem like a big deal on Monday, but come Friday when you are trying to empty out by 3 and head home for the weekend a half a day is a lot. It’s the difference between being home or being in a truckstop for the weekend.
On top of that a half a day a week equates to roughly 20 days a year. 20 days is a lot of pay.
It’s all about the long con. And that is only a half a day a week. Imagine if it was 2-3 hours each day. Could easily be an extra load a week.IH9300SBA, Last Call and Professor No-Name Thank this.
