I agree with this assessment. If a broker is dragging its feet to pay a legitimate invoice, I probably am not going to work for them again anyway.
I have filed on several brokers over the years. Well at least notified broker bond company to file against the bond. Always the same result. Payment arrives within a couple days from broker.
I have no problem getting loads from other brokers.

Until the bond money runs out and you are left holding an empty bag because you didn't file quick enough. Or you hauled something exempt that the bond doesn't cover. It's best not to book leads with shaky brokerages period. Lipsey Logistics was really shaky ground here recently for a long while. And they were one of the brokers on my carrier's do not book list because of it.

I have filed on bonds twice: the first the broker went bankrupt & in the 2nd case they hadn't paid after 50 days. No one ever mentioned the first, but shortly after filing on the 2nd I did have a new broker ask about it during the setup process. They still accepted me, but they probably wouldn't have booked with me if I had a habit of filing everytime a broker hit 31 days...Toomanybikes and rollin coal Thank this. -
Filing on someone's bond when they feel wronged (for instance if you refused to pay a 30k claim and then file on their bond for the line haul) is going to get a very nasty response from someone. -
So how can a brokerage see that a carrier filed on other broker bond?

Here is the other thread I have started a while ago.https://www.thetruckersreport.com/t...threads/a-possible-claim.339726/#post-5851432
My MC is almost two years old and I have filed on broker's bond only once before, there was no response to calls and emails for over 60 days. The broker from the other thread was the 2nd and Hub was the 3rd. The HUB was really playing games this time. They were not answering to mine and my factoring company requests about the payment. Then after over two months, they said they dont have my paperwork, when my account on their website clearly showed it was received right after the load has been delivered.
The last time this "paperwork not received game" happened to me with Network Fob, I dont know how, but I managed to get paid via Comcheck on day 75 I think, just few days before they went bankrupt. -
I lost $1,200 to network. Crooked buggers. -
Carrier411.com is heavily used, as are the load boards. Speaking of load boards, keep in mind brokers and shippers are their cash cows, not carriers. Once upon a time, I sent in a complaint to DAT or ITS (don't remember) about TQL fake posts. I would have had better results hollering into a sewer pipe. You don't even have to look hard to find Coyote, TQL, and the like shills combing through posts here on TTR.
In 6 yrs, that's the only bond claim I've made. I've also gone from a list of close to 100 brokers on a year's worth of a/r records, to maybe 5 or 6 in the past year. I'm picky about who I load. The two big brokerages I still take loads from never get more than two loads deep on the aging page. They know they have a revolving door of carriers to put loads on, so they don't care about burning a few bridges. Smaller outfits put value on relationships and good business that the big guys don't.Oscar the KW and double yellow Thank this.
