Is it better to push the clutch in when starting the truck?

BTW, I don't clutch. I flip my selector to verify neutral, move the stick, start.
If I'm putting anything under extra stress during a cold start, I dahm sure don't want it being on unlubricated thrust washers.
Starters are cheap and easy. I'm not waiting till it fails to replace it anywaysOxbow Thanks this. -

But, back when I had 70's John Deere's and David Brown 990's, you could definitely tell a difference in cranking speed between a loaded or unloaded clutch.
Could see it being a difference in extreme cold, which we don't get here, and when starters weren't as efficient as now -
