If they have to make you suffer to grab a few extra pennies, screw them. If your comfort on the road is even in the equation, this is not the outfit to work for. I will never for the life of me understand how an outfit will force a driver, or put a defeat system on a motor to shut it down... Let the owner of the company go without AC in his house for two hours in the summer and watch him howl. Go find another outfit, they could care less about the drivers.

Trust me, been all over it... No thanks. Those tolls alone will kill a guy, lack of parking, costs, etc. Good for you, because if it were up to me... LOL! You don't want to know. ;-)

I maintained between 2.2 to 3.1% by shutting off engine at every stop light and so on. This is off the old Tripmaster recording computer from DM Bowman during the mid 90's era. Daily daycab flatbedding 250 miles radius and 5 days work week 16 hours a day.

Any time that truck stopped. Engine off. Even during tolls.

Burned through several starter motors. I finally said this is BS, only 64 dollars extra a week. And ditched the bonus.

Yes the Idle bonus for me averaged about 64 dollars a week, 340 something monthly cash in addition to the 2500 or so net income. It's nice but ultimately I stopped complying. I don't see the value in trying to save a few dollars of fuel in the dead of winter after the batteries are constantly hammered with repeated draws on starts every block.

I have burned 3.5 "idling" hours just sitting in NoVa/DC and NYC traffic in one day.
