I have one year in as a business and think if I can buy a Mc number that has 5+ years it might open some doors for me

Or you can just open your own mc & open the same doors at a fraction of the cost

Aged mc/dot numbers hold no value by themselves. They need to be accompanied by assests & revenue producing freight contracts.

Cry me a river about the 10 brokers who won’t work with new numbers.....that’s like getting upset the ugly chick don’t like you.

What's about the value of mc/dot having good records that would allow lower insurance rate?

It won’t. The owner is the insured. You’ll have to buy a new policy.

Yes, but when I go and shop for insurance the insurance companies will check the dot/mc records and see it has good standing thus I would get good insurance rate. Is this not true?

I highly doubt enough of a discount to make worth the investment.

New authority insurances are regularly quoted $24k or even more for first year, some can't even get insurance. I went from $16k first year to $9k second year so I would say it's definitely worth the investment IF an aged authority is treated NOT as a 'new guy' by the insurance companies.

Your business, your decision. I can’t tell you how to run your business.

I can tell you i just don’t see it being worth while. To much involved & to easy to open your own.
