Been my experience that many of the drivers on the road couldn’t put a cob handle on a file, and they feel the rest of us are lacking mechanically just as they are….

I know my comment is going to sound dumb, but I am serious. As a personal opinion, I have no problems with a driver changing a tire. I actually have seen drivers pull the tire off, change it on the rim, and put it back on. My problem is people who don't understand the basic concept of torquing the lugs down properly. Since I retired to Virginia I remember a situation on Jefferson Blvd (a road in Newport News) when a trucker lost his left steer. I know the DOT officer that was part of the investigation. I am ignorant of the term for the device that holds the rim on that the lug goes through. The driver actually changed the tire but did not take the time to properly torque the lug nuts earlier that day. As long as you know what you are doing be my guest change that tire. If you don't OR don't have the proper tools, do yourself and the other motorists on the road a big favor and call for roadside assistance!

I haul a bunch of Yellow stuff around. All the batteries are the same and you don’t need air which might be the issue at times.

in my youth, i worked for an o/o on a 1099.

then i had several W-2 jobs.

they were ALL lucky i'd change a stinking light bulb or a glad hand grommet

i'd not ever change a tire.

hell, i been a member of the AAA going on 45 years this upcoming October...

think in all those years i changed my tire.>??

(disclosure) in my really even earlier "life", i did 17 years as a mechanic.

i had, had enough of that crap when i was younger.

The electric stuff these days is phenomenal. My only gripe is they're a bit more bulky than air tools. Can make it difficult to work in tight spaces.

The Dewalt and Mac stuff I believe is all interchangeable these days, which is nice. I can get it all off the truck.

definately agree on the battery powered ones being bulky and heavy.. plus its hard to beat the sound of a air gun full bore breaking some nuts loose.. beautiful sound

I had that happen to me in IL.

Pulled in for an inspection, and what do they find?
My airlines and also the green line were 'worn' down to the cords, about 8 inches from the gladhands.
Worn, as in shaved down by a razor by the looks of it. And not an area that would even touch anything, no matter how far I turned the trailer.
The nice and friendly officer offered to escort me back to the Love's a mile back to get it fixed.

My new 1/2" is quiet. I might need to take the muffler off.

they tell you to hop in the cruiser to go grab a banana split to share. Just you and the bear, one spoon though I heard. Different type of ice cream per state, but the spoon part is pretty constant. Also you’ll get a sticker book to decorate your dash

One of my customers has a few battery operated impacts, he was finishing installing a sprocket on a 750 JD dozer when I got there. Impact he had seemed to be strong as 3 rows of green onions, it was pretty impressive…
