Is it just me or are young adults under the age of 25 just plain lazy?

Nobody said it is only large investors or companies, or that what they are doing is bad. Where would the renters live if someone didn't rent to them? People do a lot more for their fellow man by taking the risk and investing in the future than they do signing petition or voting to save the gay baby whales and the left-handed gnats. Those investors also take a ton more risk and deserve what they earn. Lots of times they lose their shirt.

Parent at youth baseball and football games make the crowds at Oakland and Philly pro games look like a knitting circle by comparison. I think someone told them if you cuss enough at your son's game he will get a pro contract.

Oh, im sorry for my "excuses" literally being laws against what used to be the norm.

Laws passed by the generation bemoaning the lack of work ethic in "kids today"

So do me a favor and go away until you have something constructive to say

Yes, kids can’t drive tractor for potato harvest at age 12 like I did.

No, there’s no law against a 12 year old detailing cars for the neighbors.

And if you are a parent living in a community without “trust”, or whatever it is that you believe prevents your kids from being safe babysitting, washing cars, or scooping dog poop........ do whatever it takes and MOVE.

Hey buddy we live within a decent radius of each other. Around 10 yrs ago this 12/13 yr old shows up at my house and wants to mow my grass. I am so #### impressed that he has the balls to even show up at my door. Anyway, over the years I end up investing in this kid and even buying yard signs for for him. Anyway, I mentored this kid for the last 10 yrs and 2 yrs ago through one of my poker buddies he lands a union gig doing pipe. Well, after 2 yrs I’d that he decides he wants to be in the operators union. Well #### if he didn’t get that done. He’s got drive, all I did was provide a little guidance along the way. This kids mom was a drug addict and his dad died about 6 yrs ago, and which I paid for his funeral out of respect.

The people who want to rise up, do. They just need a little hand along the way.

Im 33...so i guess a mid millenial? Either way i will say that my generation spends more time whining, crying, and blameing "boomers" (who, many millenials are living off of) for all their problems.

    Its not the boomers....its YOU.

Um I think the essence of the community trust concept is twofold. 1- if your neighbor would trust not to be sued out of his home if my kid stubbed his toes raking the leaves for a buck, then he might consider my kids offer. In my kids neighborhood that was not likely and they tried lawn hustle but no takers.
2- that you live in a neighborhood where you feel ok leaving the kid at someone else's house for the few hours of working and I've seen places I wouldn't let my kid work even outside.
So maybe you have no kids and can't relate. So there's that. But the solution is just MOVE? there you're not ignorant or oblivious, you're a d**k...

Are the only jobs at McDonalds? If a family or a kid wants the kid to learn how to work before the govt gives them permission there are other jobs. Don't expect me to stand up for Baby Boomer's and their parenting skills or their imposing their values on society and the laws. You chose to read my reply.

You didn’t ask, but I moved 6,000 miles so I could raise my kids in a place where they could play outside, ride their bikes, have lemonade stands, babysit, train their dogs, drive farm vehicles when they were 12, semi trucks when they were 16, and run their own businesses by age 18.

So, maybe I can relate just fine.

I don't totally agree. The boomers created the mess the country is in right now. And now the millennials have to figure it out.

Sure there are those that whine and complain -every generation has that though. As millennials we are no different than the previous generations. We just get to clean up bigger messes.
