Is it just me or are young adults under the age of 25 just plain lazy?

Average income is well offset by those making billions. Better to see what the people actually make by the median so half of everyone makes less than that and half of everyone makes more.

    Is it really?

Maybe that minimum wage job at the comic book store will lead to a job writing the next Marvel movie. Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik built an empire while working minimum wage jobs.

I also know many, many, many teachers who lived with or were otherwise supported financially by their parents for the first years of their careers.

Is it 'better' to be financially independent and work a dead end job or be dependent on parents while working to better yourself?

Problem is, from my experience, very few teachers are actually decent. From K-12 there were only a couple of teachers I had that were truely passionate about education and made a point of trying to really connect with their students. They believed in everyone's potential, from the straight-A Honor Roll kids to the ones struggling to pull a C.

Exactly, which is why i was showing median, not average, its possible 1st # i cited as median, which was what had searched for lied and was average, not median, but yes, median is better than average.

GOOD administration is worth its weight in gold, but if you are good at teaching, why should this make tou good at administration where you would be divorced from where you can make an impact being an excellent teacher?

Being a principal instead of literally influencing the next generation should NOT be a pay raise, it should be at most a lateral move.

There aren’t too many good, passionate teachers.

well, not enough lets say. I have met and experienced a large majority of straight up pizz poor teachers. Doing the bare minimum so they can get to summer break. Dated a few. Trash. I am a product of many poor teachers and I went to a so called good school.

I can agree with you. I dropped out so that speaks to my experience with teachers.

The worst were always math teachers, never got along with them.

the best teachers are the empathetic ones, which like you said, are few. You should watch the movie “detachment”. Amazing movie about students and teaching

That's not a teacher, that's administration which is a whole different pay scale.

Every single teacher I know, and my wife is one so I know a lot if them, is very passionate about education and the kids. The problem is administration, usually at the state level that mandates exactly what the teacher can teach and what they cannot, even if a specific child would learn better one way and another a different way.
Or like MI an TX both that require the teachers to teach to the state required test and not necessarily the subject.
