I own one and never used it and have seen some other drivers have it in their window while travelling west and the sun is cooking the left side of your body. Instead, I wear my sweater to block the sun even in the summer while driving. I wanted to ask if it is actually legal to have it in your window though? Even if it is I know not to use it while going through a weigh station.
Is it legal by DOT to use those sun blockers on your driver side window?

Doubt it
Obstructed view of road
Probably same as a visor that is way too big or very dark tinted windows
Move seat back as far as possible
Or drive at night with the rest of us vampires -
I tinted my windows with ceramic tint. You can't really tell it's there, but it blocks UV and heat just as much as a regular limo tint
Lowlite, Sirscrapntruckalot, bigguns and 3 others Thank this. -
I thought about doing it in my truck, but they’d be able to tell at the weigh stations with infrared cameras I suspect. -
I see the white volvo brigade using those all the time. But that’s hardly the worst thing i see some of them getting away with.
tscottme Thanks this. -
I always thought those were like a privacy shield to keep people from looking over at you when they pass you

I used that clinging tint crap that I would get from Camperworld for a few bucks, never had an issue with it stuck to the driver's window.

Don't know if they're legal or not, but I use the spring loaded shade and and open it when crossing scales. From the outside it looks like an off-white color, but from the inside can see just fine and see the rear view mirror just fine. Bought it at Walmart.
You can get skin cancer from the sun coming through the drivers side window. -

Chinatown Thanks this.
