Is it legal to have a different skirt length?

    As far as on a trailer, they help streamline the air around. I think a trailer is much more stable with them. A tornado underneath can’t be good for handling. Not to mention taking the air off of those trailer tires and undercarriage. A lot of drag.

    With them in a cross wind, the air has leverage to push at the bottom of the trailer and push the whole unit sideways. Without them, the push is much higher and more leverage to shove it over.

    Think how a NASCAR 4 wheeler would handle without ground effects.

    I think they are worth about half a mile per gallon on fuel mileage, but have no proof. I certainly would never take them off.

    I've used a tarp strap hooked to the bottom of the skirt and the other end stretched and hooked to something underneath the trailer to keep the skirt from flapping around. A lot cheaper than a road service call.
