Is it me or is it time to ban recap tires from on-highway use?

Southern Tire has a special on Firestone steers 2 for $800. Also 8 Firestone trailer tires for ??? Maybe $2800 or $3000. I’ll have to check again. The steers probably aren’t 591’s but the other cheaper ones. 503?? Whatever they would make excellent trailer tires.

 

90-110 sounds one way, 70-90 sounds another way, anything below 70 sounds like put air in it or plan for boom boom. some cheap retreads sound thud flat even at 100. using contextual clues also if one tones way lower than the others it needs air

 

Did someone say recap? Luckily it was on the outside. 35k on drives, 20 miles from delivery. 30 mph backroads. Got a 2019 virgin used tire for $200. Guy loaned me his big tire bars, put in my on myself. Saved me $60. He also had an old Freightliner out back. Sold me a mudflap hanger off it for $25. Mine was already damaged before today. Got an extra one at home Ive been planning on putting on for a long time. Just glad I found a decent tire, and didn’t miss my re load. Delivering it now, and re loading another. He offered to let me take both hangers for the $25. Nope, only need one, still have an extra. Good Guy. Shop is in London Ohio, between the TA and Pilot. Across from Waffle House.
