Is it normal / easy for dealer to modify new truck on their lot?

Since there is a huge backlog at the factory for custom trucks, how difficult would it be for the dealer to make changes to an existing truck on their lot? The only new trucks available are the ones no one wants, so I wonder if I can get them to change the bizarre color and the remove the fold out table and replace it with a regular bunk if they can do that quickly?

Probably. But it's going to add to the price of the truck. And what exactly is a "bizarre" color? If you're going to have the whole truck repainted it's really going to cost.

I wonder what that would cost. I've seen some four-wheelers wrapped with advertising but haven't seen a big rig done that way.

Most Will NOT. Because of the amount of work involved and the cost to you.

Take it to a custom sleeper place and they will do the work for less.

No body wants those new trucks that are now on the lots?

You guys are falling for the BS.

If it was such a hot market, those trucks would be gone off the lot because they are standard spec'd trucks and someone would buy them, stick a driver in them and make money.

If you’re paying cash, I’m sure they’ll paint it with rainbows and unicorns upon your request.

If you finance the truck through the dealer, they’re likely to keep the color modest to up the resale value upon repossession.

Depends on the modification. Cab mods are going to cost a fortune, the parts may not even be available. In this modern era of having to provide a VIN for any part, how are you going to determine what items are needed? Changing the color on a new truck isn't as bad as a used truck but still not cheap. The trucks that most dealers order for stock are the most popular configurations, if he doesn't sell it quickly, he will have some other dealer buy it from him if he doesn't want to pay the floor plan cost.
