    Say what you like.

I know my radio sounds better/transmits farther than before I dropped it off to him and that's all I asked for.

I had no expectations when I dropped the radio off. He said the radio SUPRISED HIM.

He could've lied and said, "Oh. Yea. I can do a (super tune) on your cobra 19DXIV. That'll be $50 extra."

Maybe you're upset that my $50 radio puts out more watts than your $300 radio?

Yes I'm just crying my eyes out over your big bad Cobra 19. I would do a reality check if I were my friend. I would be embarrassed to think that a radio that looks like a pack of cigarettes sitting on my dash can put out 40 watts:biggrin_2559:. I see why that guy stays in business he's right up your alley. P.T Barnum said it best "there's a sucker born every minute" nothing could be more true in your case my friend.:biggrin_25512:

Come to the T/A at exit 4 on Rt. 80 in NJ.

You set the date and time.

You pay Nick the $25 to check my radio out.

I'll bet you $100 WITH EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD AS A WITNESS that my Cobra 19 DX IV puts out 40 watts.

Put your money where your mouth is.

Somebody would have to be crazy to take that bet. Of course the guy that tuned your radio is going to make his meter show 40 watts again. It's easy to do. And he makes you pay $25 to put a radio on a meter? Wow.

Hey....I just opened a cb shop in my bathroom...I only charge $15 dollars to make your radio sound like ####. No but seriously you got burned bro sorry. There's a reason he operates out of a hotel because he's not any good. If you need work done stay away from those places. If you get to CT anytime let me know I'll hook you up with a honest tech or call him and ask if you don't wanna believe me 800-666-0908. Just not possible from that radio.

    ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!

    Back to the original question.

I understand that a "bigger/better" antenna won't help my outgoing signals.

But a TALLER antenna would help my INCOMING signal. Right?

Just to be sure, if I had $ burning a hole in my pocket. Would buying another antenna in any way HURT my incoming and/or outgoing signal?

I'm in Wallingford maybe once a month. (I deliver frozen food for Shoprite on Rt.5.) Is your bathroom CB shop near there?

Generally speaking, the taller antenna you can run, the better for transmit and receive. What are you running now, and what are you looking to buy?

    handlebar Thanks this.

That's funny...I'm right down the street from there. Again call that number when you get up here. Only a 15 minute ride from Wallingford in Berlin. He will tell you the truth about what the radio is doing. And you can get a big truck in his place too.
