Don't tell your employer you are getting any benefit from it ... they'll want to charge you for it. :biggrin_25523:

Unfortunately, this is the attitude that inspires drivers to get (and remain) sloppy fat. It IS possible to maintain a fitness regimen on the road... I, and many other drivers I have met, are a testament to that. Is is easy? NO! But it is possible. My beef was with the guy who claimed that he hit the gym 3 or 4 times a week on the road. That seems like a ridiculous claim to me. However, it is possible to create a workout program in, or around, the truck that will maintain fitness.

What about carrying a Total Gym with you in the truck and take it out and use it outside at rest stops? Sure, I'd look weird, but I'd be in shape!

That's a perfectly legitimate option! I've seen a couple of guys in truck stops who haul a weight bench on their truck, and they were pumping iron alongside their trailer in a truck stop. As I said, the desire to stay fit on the road is only limited by the driver's desire, creativity, and commitment.

I'd get enough of a workout trying to get a full size weight bench out the door without falling off the steps...

don't they have portable ones? foldup type?

There are some resistance kits that can attach to the seat. Of course it would have to be the passenger seat because, you know, if you're caught in the driver seat, you'd better be on line 3. :biggrin_2559:

If only Bowflex made a smaller machine. What about that red chair thing that twists around? A lot of truckers need to sharpen their obliques and abdominals.
