do you have a total gym? know how much it weighs?

I was kinda looking for just a bench so i could do weights. Obv a full size bench wouldn't fold up. or it would be too heavy for an out of shape girl to drag out of the sleeper, over a seat and to the ground. ( i thought i mentioned that already?)

There are a few things out there that don't take up a lot of room that will help you stay in shape. There are inflateable weight sets, such as Aquabells. They are an alternative to lugging around freeweights, plus they are easier to store.

If you want to get a good cardio workout but are leary about running in unfamiliar surroundings or just leaving the truck try jumping rope. This will get your heart pumping very quickly, I find that it's also a bit easier on the joints than long distance running.

If you want some more strength training type exercises get some resistance bands. They work on the same principal as bowflex type machines. There are bands of varying resistance, use a carabeaner to hook it to your truck and off you go.

You immagination is the only thing limiting your ability to work out on the road. Think outside the box, your workout will not only be more enjoyable but a better way to relieve stress etc.

How about bringing a mountain bike with you on OTR hauls? Do fleet trucks have space anywhere or maybe inside the trailer?

Wife bought me a full size mtn bike that folds in half. Think it cost around 200 on the internet. I have a frtliner condo and the bike fits at the foot end of my bunk. run a 2x4 between the shelves of a mid roof and you can hang a non folding bike without it being to big a hassle. Takes some getting used to to get the bike out the passenger door but once I figured out which way to turn it it and when it wasn't a problem. Hanging it outside makes it get freakishly dirty and the chain will rust up and get grit in it.

Exactly, where there is a will, there is a way. If you can't hit the gym, there are TONS of bodyweight, physioball and med ball exercises you can do. Since trucking is a lifestyle, as is choosing to be fat. If you've been fat, chances are, you won't make or have never tried to make an effort to not be a fat mess. Sitting behind the wheel is like a lazy kid playing video games all day. And we wonder why kids today are overweight. Bring fruit, protein bars, healthy food choices instead of eating trucker/truck stop food. And, FIND A WAY TO WORKOUT! It can be done.
