You must be one of those drivers who doesn't know what the #### their doing in the port and hold everyone up. I deal with a lot of cool longshore up here that are helpful.
Back OT: I enjoy hauling cans. I run the piers/rails, make pretty good money. Of course, depends on what company you're leased to.
Is it possible to make good money hauling containers (intermodal)?

No, actually I do know what I'm doing at the port. I know just the right way to sit in line. You mean to tell me there aren't any long lines at the piers you go in to? Sounds like you got it made. Good for you.

Do any of you guys know how well the intermodal guys are doing as company drivers for Schneider up in the Boston area doing regional?
How many loads a day?
Average weekly pay?
Thanks in advance! -
how is everything going with new company?
would you recommend anyone? -
I think this depends on the company and the situation. I know on average, our O/O is doing $3,000 to $4,000/wk, some weeks even more, to the truck (we require them to have their own authority, we act as the broker). Since his truck is paid for, and he does a lot of his own repair work, his biggest expense is fuel, and he often fuels in our yard so they deduct it from his settlement, but he's making good money. Few years back when it was really slow for us, he left to work for JB for about 8 months, he was losing his shirt on every load, plus they wouldn't let him run under his authority, he had to run under JB's.
