In case you guys thinking about ports
1. Do you know if they run company tractors or strictly owner operator?strictly owner operator
2. With ny/nj being so overcrowded, How many runs a day can one person do? well short ones you can do up to 2 long ones 1 a day will do it, if ports are slow they will send you to the rails. they also have people that only go to the port and back to the yard. -
DesiTrucker Thanks this.

is this with transnoble?
if I take a dedicated run from transnoble, how much can I gross weekly if you happen to know?
thanks -
first where are you located??
transnoble and hub aka comtrak have those drop and hook depending on volume you might see one some hudson valley logistics doing in it ,it all depends on where you go and how many miles you run, for example, i did that in 4 days week because im in the national guard and i had a 3 day training, i ran 700 miles total gross pay was about 1800 dollars i only spent 300 on fuel (about 2.14 a mile), im doing a glass loads dedicated out of little ferry railyard and it pays me all tolls, plus miles and 25 dollars extra per load and its a drop and hook less than 90 miles round trip i can do 2 or may be 3 of those a day(depending how many are grounded) and be done in less than 9 hours(my girlfriend hates how easy i have it)... those are a example of my numbers, but i dont run as hard as before because my trucks are paid for.
also they do have a weekend load to Massachusetts drop and hook also. -
Rukkie,
Do you have your own authority? -
I had it but I dropped it, I'm taking too much time off lately and it's better for me to let someone do most of the work and paid for it until I decide to get off the road and focus on managing(i have 2 trucks and I'm on the market for my 3rd), hopefully within the next 2 years I will reactivate it or get together with someone with 2 or trucks to restart it.
