I'm in Hampton roads Virginia and guys here from what I understand are in the 1500 to to 2 k working a week on % loads and can't get enough GOOD drivers with 2 yrs experience that they're insurance will cover. Most with 2yrs and no Dac issues can just about write they're own ticket and be home most nights but most have no benefits.

the problem is that young drivers mess a lot stuff up and those are the ones that can pass a drug test the older guys are happy being a company driver with all benefits

Allpoints is part of Evans, they are taking over failing companies nationwide, they recently bought up the assets of VA Transportation here Denver, the trucks range from downright scary looking to only a few years old in good condition.

If you are in the intermodal business and you don't know Evans delivery service you are not in the business

i hauled for old d in savannah ga intermodal for two years it was great but they let all their o/o,s go from every terminal except charleston s.c......was bringing home $2200 -$3200 a week after fuel.home every nite off weekends. #### i miss that, now company drivers do it for a lot less.

Things have actually picked up, but I'm out 3-4 nights a week, but mostly because it's easier on my sleep schedule. I worked 4 days 2 weeks ago and still cleared $2,200 and this week's settlement was just over $3,000.

Honestly, I would try someone like AV first. Then Scott Beckman maybe or say (?) Or something aces. They all haul grain in and out of Elwood. AV if they're hiring has the biggest customer base and decent easy runs. I would stay away from Allstar, too many problems.

That sounds bad. 300 miles every day? Own truck is it $1600 clean or dirty? Seems low. I make $1600- $1800 dirty and i do about 100miles total each week and thats on a bad week.

    What's wrong with Allstar?

Also, bringing up all star, poor guy's, one of their tractors were involved in that devastating accident on I80 yesterday. Evergreen box burnt up in flames but their nice looking truck was destoryed aswell.

Are you serious? I wonder who it was. Any idea what kind of truck it was? Other then a Volvo. (I'm actually on vacation, so I'm a little out of the loop)

My issue with Allstar was that they have pissed just about everyone off or power money to various chassis companies, that the only place you can pull an MT from is the rail. They can't even pull a chassis to lot 16 to get a box from there. After I left last year, another driver told me they were being investigated for running false Elwood permits.
