Depends on the company. I took a full month off at one time with no problems because I vacationed overseas. A couple of drivers with TransAm do that; take extended vacations.

If you will run 8-10 weeks without any hometime , I guarantee that any company will have 0 issue to let you off for 3 or 4 weeks in a row , so run 10 weeks stay 4 home , repeat as needed!

home time normally is a day and a half for every seven days out, some are a day.you would have to ask your company about taking weeks off at a time.if your out ten weeks you're home for ten to twelve days.but keep in mind your company will want you to leave your truck at the terminal if you're going to be home that long.

maybe not at first but after a yr if you keep your record clean you could find a company that offers more hometime, Poly trucking is one where you could get up to 10 or more days off a month if your flexible when you need to get home, also magnum may allow a week off when you go home and they hire trainees and look like a decent outfit. good luck

also at some bigger carriers I've seen some guys work for 6 months or so then take a few months off to go live over seas in someplace like Thailand, just a thought

Anything is possible provided you get your approval in writing. Honestly, if you asked me that question during your interview, I probably would not hire you.
