No its not ok to do that. Then people like us who work hard for our money make it hard to make a living thats why rates are so low

Fast food only pays $7.25,they also never give 40 hr work weeks so im looking at 120 hours @7.25=870 BEFORE taxes.I wanna make at least $2,000 AFTER takes so that way after rent and bills I'm still left with $1,000 for whatever

Undercutting a rate? Seriously? Dude, not cool. Think about it, some driver or company drove that rate up so they could make a living hauling that freight. And you want to come in and undercut them just because you don't need as much to live. Well, bully for you. But other drivers need more what with supporting families and whatnot.

McManly, you can scrape by on $2,000/month on any job. Please stay out of trucking. The rest of us need more, and guys like you coming in are gonna screw up our incomes. Go flip burgers or something instead, $2,000/month is really good money for that.

I would tell them that minimum wage is your goals, after all if you shoot low you can never be disappointed.

2,000 running local is probably all you are going to get anyway. They normally only run up to 50 hours a week and good luck if you can get one to pay you overtime after 40 hours.

if trucking companies were concerned about experience and safety. they wouldn't be hiring anyone with no cdl and the govt wouldn't be shoving boxes down our throats.
