I have had my CDL for about 6 months and I have driven OTR for about 2 months. In those 2 months I have put about 40000 miles with team driver. Now the question is what are the chances of getting any kind of local driving job. I have clear MVR never had a problem I am willing to work (dump, dry van etc.). I live in Chicago thank you.

2 months exp. you can get a dump truck or a concrete driving job, maybe. you really need exp. , 1-2 yrs, to find anything local. insurance reasons at most companies.

My god man, have you even tried? :biggrin_25525:

You should be able to get almost any local job you apply for, especially in construction. The biggest thing local companies will do is see if you have even a weeks worth of experience. If you do, then their big thing is the drive test and your mvr and accident history.

Go get to it and apply to every single local company that you can find that has trucks.

Secret. Even ads that look really old are not old. The turnover rate in this industry is so high that they can't keep putting ads out so often. So, keep every singe ad you find and contact even the old ones. You will be working locally in no time.

    Hope this Helps.

    Ray James.
