But if you need to have an accountant do your taxes you should make sure you can claim per diem. I believe you must have a home address.

Great opportunity to save money. Treat yourself every so often with a motel, swimming pool, rental car, good dinner, sightseeing, whatever you want. The money will stack up quick. Storage? For what. Keep only what’s if any value. The rest can be bought when needed. In the long run, you’ll be way ahead. Having the funds built up, gives you the Buying power, when needed. Meanwhile build up credit rating if needed. 3 credit cards, using less than 30% of balance. Small amounts, paid on time, for a year or 2, whatever it takes to get the number up. Clark Howard has some great info on building up credit rating.
