honestly, I don't care but it seems you expect the industry to conform to your needs and you not to its.
Yeah when you have 5 years in the seat driving. Of course, at that time, then you can be considered a professional but not with 3 months of drive time.
Sure but that's still not a professional.
Because you are a high risk driver and it costs all of us to have you on the road.
EXACTLY.Albertaflatbed and Rugerfan Thank this. -
You completely missed the "BIG CHEESE"....
Forget driving.
You should do RAP DANCE VIDEOS for top-tier "starter" carriers.....like CR England, Western Express....or maybe TransAm.

Chi Town Steers Thanks this. -
One of the big problems with very little experience is the insurance companies. They tell the trucking companies if they approve of the driver. The big mega fleets that train and hire drivers themselves. Have a little trick in their pockets. They are self insured for the first $1,000,000.
CR England use to have truck roll over every week they averaged 52 roll over a year. They would write a check for the freight that was no good. They had their own tow truck so they could pull the truck and trailer if it was still safe to back to Salt Lake City. They had their own shop and they could rebuild any truck and trailer themselves. They never had to deal with the insurance company unless the something was over $1,000,000. That would be like a big lawsuit.
If someone had the cash to buy a new truck and trailer but no real experience they probably wouldn’t qualify for insurance. The risk is to big for insurance company to takeChi Town Steers and Rugerfan Thank this. -
Oh man.....you don't even know the half. You get enough time out here, you'll definitely see it. This industry is full of them. Most members on here alright guys, but they're saltier than the Pacific Ocean lol.lual and gentleroger Thank this.

Lack of experience. It's a bad look when a driver quits with no job lined up so early into their career. It's one thing if you went to another company, but got hired away from Western. It's another thing to quit altogether, take some time off, then try to get back in a truck. It's way harder to do that now than it was 5 or so years ago.tscottme Thanks this.

Doesn't MSC require you show up with your Merchant Mariner card?

I haven't read through everything, but I admit I kind of get a kick out of the OPs attitude. That said, wouldn't it be a little difficult to make it on Uber with no home and no car? Maybe I missed something.

Correct.
If someone is easily "butt-hurt" and/or otherwise offended -- then trucking will VER-RY LIKELY be a rather poor job choice for him/her (it?
)....

Yes. I got mine at the Coast Guard office in Memphis.
