Is it taboo to park in the first truck spot at a rest area?

I can somewhat see what you're saying. For some reason I was thinking about when drivers take that other pass through spot after seeing if they can pull in. I was mistaken. Though, I still wouldn't park there. Seems ill-advised.

As an example, you can see in this diagram the bathroom is on fire. But expedite_it is preventing the firetruck from getting in to save the day.

But now he can't get out of the way because his tandems are too far back to make the turn without driving in the grass.

P.S. not sure what the yellow car is doing there, but there always seems to be a yellow car doing some sort of yellow car shenanigans, so I threw that in.

Thats the left door closed driver spot. It is for a quick pit stop or piss stop. In and out and back on the road. Not to lolly gag or sleep.

One thing you have not thought of is safety and emergency movement. The original idea and planning of the interstate system. The civil engineers made the first and far right travel passages for easy and fast evac situations. Think interstate shoulders in Texas. Like has been said in thread it is considered a pass thru and a fire lane. What if that place had to clear out in minutes and only one way out. Like i said in the other thread. Common sense and street smarts after your first year of trucking teach you that.

Why does the fire truck look like a red owl with blue eyeballs?

LOL, critics gonna be critics. The blue circles were supposed to be windshields, and the white stripe was supposed to be the ladder.
