This happens every now and then... right now I was in the sleeper at a shipper with no one else around as I parked far away and there are only two other trucks here getting loaded. I heard and felt what seemed like someone slamming my trailer door. I get out and look and not a single person around and this is an open area so no one could have disappeared easily. What gives?
Is it the wind or a ghost?

Sometimes when I am in the sleeper I swear I hear someone lightly knock on my door. When I get out to look there is no one there. I know I am not crazy because this happened again with my student in the truck. He got up from the sleeper to see who it was and there was nobody there.

I'm assuming you are in a standard size tractor pulling either a 48 or 53 foot trailer. You are in a high profile vehicle and a bit over 50' from those doors. Being a high profile vehicle means there is more trailer exposed to the wind. It don't take much wind to (rattle) even a loaded trailer. I have sit in my tractor with the windows down and have heard the wind cause all kinds of weird sounds back there. Think about how it feels when a forklift enters your trailer and the noise made to get an idea. As far as the (knocking) door goes, my guess is there is something inside that door that's making that sound when the wind conditions are right. I drive a wore out Volvo tractor, when it's a bit windy both my doors make knocking sounds.

You may have gotten a truck whos former owner died in it due to whatever reason. Stroke, heart attack, you name it. Now he's not so happy that you got his wheels.
