I got married a little late in life (56 when we got married, I’m 62 now), and I’ll admit that it took a while to learn how to share my life. I’ve found that the best way to carve out a little bit of “me time” is to hit the ground running on “we” stuff. There are always things that need doing, so I do them asap, and after completing a bunch of tasks it’s a whole lot easier to claim a little bit of reward time.
Opus, Boondock and MiFamilyGuy Thank this. -
If I was gone for 4 weeks , I’d be home at least 7 days , maybe more .
every other job gets two days off for every 5 you work .
So does your dispatcher and broker and mechanic and every one else that works in the trucking industry. Except drivers.Badmon, D.Tibbitt, Gearjammin' Penguin and 4 others Thank this. -

Only trucking expects that and only from the drivers .
You think the dispatchers and brokers work 16 hours a day 7 days a week for a month and then only get 3 days off before their boss damages they go back out for another month of 16 hour days ???
F that.
One job I worked (not trucking ) we worked 10 8 hour days in a row and then got 5 days off .
Every other normal Job you work 40 hours , usually five 8 hour days followed by two days off
or some reasonable schedule like that.
In my current job (not trucking ) I have had to go to a job site in another state and work for 12 days in a row. But when I got back I got a week off with pay .Badmon, Mototom and BeHereNow97 Thank this.
