I'm also 45 years old and currently a millwright at a papermill,I don't know how much longer my career will last at the mill but I am too considering a shot at trucking if something was to happen.
How much can a newcomer be looking to make at companies like Swift or JB Hunt and Schneider their 1st year? -
Mandiesel,
I spoke with a driver from Swift the other day. He's been with them for about 1 1/2 years and really likes the job. He is currently working a dedicated route so he's home each night. He did say, "you're not gonna make any money for at least the first eight months...then it starts getting a little better." I asked if he gets the miles he wants and he stated that Swift keeps him busy. He also said he really likes the Qcomm. -
