Is it true that in California to add Hazmat, you have to retake the test?

The new rules regarding getting hazmat with taking that new ELDT test is for those who are applying for a CDL for the first time.if you’ve had hazmat, it’s not required & if you had hazmat before, but don’t have it now and want to put it back on you’re still not required to take the eldt test because you had hazmat already on your license in the past

 

In California, I had to retake the general knowledge tests including air brake endorsement when I got my tanker endorsement. I believe the DMV employee said that if you want to add any endorsements, do it within the first year after your license is issued or renewed otherwise you have to retake all of the tests. FN BS.
