I am currently a o/o leased on to a co in pa, I run local home every night but I'm not 100% happy with the freight situation. We run water to Costco, sam's the rates are crappy but the co isn't bad. My question is would it be worth getting my own authority, my truck will be paid off by the end of the year & I was considering getting a trailer once that happens. I'm running out of the Allentown area thanks in advance for your opinions.

I did it and found it to be a lot of work. Negotiating rates ,loading the trailer (drop deck), driving, looking for reload etc. Than trying to invoice and collect. It really is a lot of work.

I would find a regular shipper/customer first. Some Load broker's can be pretty hard to deal with. Ehhm you know cheap and heavy.
