    I recently contacted Werner regarding returning to the company. They pre approved my application, want to set up orentation, and put me through 140 hours of re-training. I now read that they are looking at layoffs, and that some are not even getting assigned trucks after training.

    There is no layoffs at Werner. What they are doing is getting rid of all the problematic drivers to cut back on employees but they are still hiring.

    yeah, they don't have to lay off. drivers quit fast enough for it not to be an issue.

    with that being said, no one is getting a truck right away after completing training unless you are going dedicated/team, but the wait time has been going down. they parked about 1250 trucks last year, based on my research... but the freight is picking up, and so the hiring will be too.
