I have a question is Kenworth stopping making truck soon?
I ask because all the trucking ads I have seen I haven't seen any companies advertise that they run Kenworth trucks! I check jobs boards and trucking companies sites regularly to see what's going on and I can't remember the last time I've seen any companies that advertise Having Kenworth and it even looks as there are a few Peterbilt truck either? PLENTY ADS FOR THE NEW FREIGHTLINER! What's going on?
Is Kenworth going out of business

No Kenworth is not going out of business.
Nothereoften, JohnBoy, MartinFromBC and 4 others Thank this. -
Companies are just buying the cheap trucks because no body can drive anymore. Kenworth and Peterbilt aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
New/OldSchoolTrucker89, WildTiger1990, exhausted379 and 4 others Thank this. -
Makes more since now thanks
MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
My company exclusively buys Kenworth t680’s so I doubt it. Heck didn’t they make a new w series? I think I saw it looks wacky mixing old school with an aero package.
Nothereoften and MartinFromBC Thank this. -
Nothing is exempt from possible bankruptcy, but I would rank kenworth as very unlikely to close its doors. Around my area by the amount of trucks, from most popular to least popular, just me eyeballing whats on the road it would be.

My company has 50 brand new ones on property. In fact, I got the call last week that I’ll be evicted from the present KW I have and put into a new one this week.

KW makes a quality product. I know of a few outfits I'll be stuck into a nice good studio or T2000 or similar. I don't have to worry about certain failures as present in some of the other truck models.
I generally like em all. However few has earned a spot in my heart for being good and KW happens to be one of them.
Many of the newer trucks are experiencing a sort of confusing or forgetting of their historical roots. But all of that will be sorted out soon enough as they always are. Keep in mind they do not really make the old Petes like the long 379's anymore. They make other models etc which could be pricier than they need to be to compete. Throw in a engine maker called CAT that quit making old school CATS and tried to make something else out of the left over fur. That does not always go well.
And the rest of it? I would not worry about it too much. 2019 is coming and there will be a downturn at that time in the future. When it does get here, you will find many tractors returned and then dumped to sale at a loss.
Finally companies do not keep trucks a long time. You go through 600,000 miles in about 3 years or so as a team or within 5 years as a solo and they are pretty much worn out and ready to dispose of for a replacement of unknown quality. Some tractors I have driven were in the excess of one million approaching two and some were from the 50's and still running. Those are the ones you remember. Makes today's vehicles sound like weed eathers in general. Nothing special about any of them unfortunately. -
People advertise because they need business..
Kenworth doesn’t have to because the business comes without advertising.
It’s like replacing something that isn’t broken.- waste of money.drvrtech77, Rubber duck kw, Shaggy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Kw and Pete are the local favorites around here.
