Wondering if M52 from I94 to I96 in Michigan is restricted to trucks in anyway? I've heard it is and heard it isn't. Also heard it's possibly slow going? Pulling tandem axle 53' reefer.

Based on the list of restricted routes shown for Michigan in my issue of the Randy McNally "Deluxe Motor Carriers' Road Atlas" -- no, it is not.

Nor is state hwy 52, either.

I hope you mean M52? As US52 doesn't go near Michigan. Why would you want to anyway? Depending on direction it's likely much faster to drop down US23 or US127 depending on the route.

I did mean M52 my bad. I make a regular delivery and go through Ann Arbor US23 Fridays around 5pm. It's a parking lot alot of times with the construction and Friday afternoon traffic lately. Was just looking at possible alternate routes. Missing Fowlerville scale wouldn't break my heart either.

Also I have more than enough time just looking for less headaches.

M52 is not restricted and is a fine route, mind your speed though. You can actually run it right down to M50 and cut back across to US 23 at Dundee. You’re not goiyto gain much time but it is less stressful than that mess on US23

Just got done running it and I'm not mad about it at all. It came out a wash timewise but the pros out weighed the cons.

Like my dad used to say, sometimes the scenic route is better. I find myself after 30 years going the two lanes more and more just to get away from the silliness that seems to becoming more prevalent on the big roads

I'll take a two lane through ag country vs that mess through Ann Arbor or anywhere like it any day of the week. I don't even care if it cost me a few minutes. I'm experimenting lately trying to find more of them I can run.

Its going to get worse if Ann Arbor and this moronic state get their way about US23, already they are talking about smart roads, more HOV lanes, X crossings for the ramps, and some other crap. They've been pushing roundabouts, just like Farmington where there is a roundabout for a small shopping center.
