Is Mobile Use of CB Radios Becomming Illegal?

Again I will ask this here, has anyone received a ticket?

I asked this and arrl responded "we have yet to hear about a licensed amateur receiving a ticket"

And it is the discretion of a law enforcement officer whether or not to even pursue it.

The state law hasn't been addressed in the courts and this is just like CARB where the constitutional duty of the Feds interstate commerce is ignored by CARB by telling foreign trucks (other states) have to have specific equipment to enter the state,

 

I'm an oversize load escort. I'm required by law in most states to have a cb radio. A few states say 2-way communication device. Most states specifically say cb radio.

 

2 way comms device could be a cell ut thats supposed to be a no no..lol..A string and 2 cans but im sure someone would have an issje with that..lol

 

I've never run with anyone that didn't use a CB. The point being, no CB's aren't illegal.

 

Lotsa drivers run without a radio or have them off..
I see it(sorry dont hear it)all the time..

 

So I’m guessing PTT headset on a CB will do?

 

I didn’t either but when the market is in need someone will Or it already exists just not common.

 

Cobra makes or made a blooth/ptt combo headset..
A ham radio ptt set up will work with adapter to fit your radio..
