You must not have much experience with Union jobs, but we will honor your appending view of Unions as such.
But most of us realize there's power in unity and that power can be harnessed for the good of all.

Let's not get any union versus non union talk started, okay? That topic starts more arguments than politics and religion combined.

Your first post made no mention of you dragging a loaded trailer home with you. You implied you were bobtailing home and then back to the dc in the morning to start. So if you are in fact taking a load home and the load is going on the direction of and past your house you should get paid. If you’re taking the load 130 miles in the wrong direction they’re not going to pay you for 260 miles just so you can go home.
The company sounds like they’re terribly desperate for drivers to allow this to go on. Or they’re seeing what all you’ll put up with and they’re hoping you will quit. Have you asked about commuting in your personal vehicle to the dc so you don’t lose drive time on your logs? That seems like a pretty simple solution to be able to gain 4 or so hours of work time a day. -
To top it all off, Kitty comes out and takes a GIANT Petro bacon poop in the construction zone in El Paso.
I'm like "My God, have pity on thy humble servant. "

<instigating remarks removed> Basically if the job you have doesn’t make you happy then try another job. Another company. Another route. Or just collect social security or some type of welfare. Trucking has tons of different options and there’s gotta be a job out there to suit your needs.
