Definately true Don, unless the A.H. is a ####### desk jockey who knows nothing and is sending QC messages. I think it's the flu, felt like I had it whipped after 3 days then relapsed worse than it was last night. My original plan for this load was to get to PA and do my 34 there before I delivered, now i am doing it in London, OH then tomorrow I will run the remaining 450 or so miles.
Is one of your reasons for driving truck....

I don't know Don, seems like falling in love is for younger folks but I don't know how old you were when you met your lady. I don't know anyone my age that has met and fallen in love, I mean the kind where you get butterflies when they are comin up the driveway
Does that happen to older folks?? I hope so but I just don't know any it's happened to. I don't get out much though

NW it happened to by dad with my mom when he was in his mid 40's. They went on 2 dates and were married 6 mo. later. This is AFTER 4 failed marriages.

My father remarried for love when he was 80. He was married for love the first time for 54 years.
I must note though that while he loved her........and she loved him..........I grew to not care for her at all due to her attempts to manipulate and hurt other family members. But she was good to my Daddy. -
Nana that sounds like the itch that Pawpa married after Nahnaw ( note i am trying to spell words that don't exist) died. The itch he married tried to take care of him, but completely destroyed the close knit family we had.
Texas-Nana Thanks this. -

I never aspired to become someone tied to an office. Originally, however, I got my CDL for the money. I had been a small-town DJ and started a family, so I needed to upgrade my meager income to something that was just mediocre!
That said, I've always loved to drive. First job was driving a delivery car for a chain of pharmacies. Still love to drive in the country with my wife occasionally...just go and see what we run into.
I still love to drive through small towns, particularly in the midwest, that have that "Norman Rockwell" feel to them. I'm a throwback...very old-school, and love that kind of schmaltzy stuff.JustSonny Thanks this. -
Denise, I got married for the first time at 57. Moved from Canada to Louisiana to do it. We met online at a Cat site of all things (the Meow type) on the second day after I bought a computer and went online. Going on 6 yrs now and absoloutely no regrets.
I've been doing this stuff for 38+ years now and don't expect to retire until they're shovelling dirt in my face. One of my "plans" for winning the Powerball is buying an older huge bunk rig, customizing the heck outa it and travelling around to truck shows, etc. Might even mount a pickup bed in place of the 5th wheel and licence it as a "Personal Vehicle" just to drive the DOT guys crazy.
Yeah, you could say I'm hooked on trucking. "Adventure" is still part of it, albeit less than it used to be. I haul Hazmat tanker these days and that's about as "adventurous" as I wanna get.But when I sit and think of all the beautiful things I've seen over the years that I probly wouldn't have otherwise ( I call em my Thank You God moments) then the years and the tears are all worth it.
Texas-Nana Thanks this.
